Silky Cowl Neck

Nice top I am 6ft tall and the sleeves are slightly long on me. Material is lovely and soft. Colours are great really suit me as I am a deep winter. Really great price as it was in the sale.

Lovely colour but unfortunately that is all the positive. I should have paid more heed to the other reviews, I don’t consider myself particularly petite at 5’5” however this top was so long it was like a dress and I had to roll the sleeves up a good few inches.

I'm generally a size 10 and small in most tops in Kettlewell on previous sizing. I have some old cowl neck tops from kettlewell that I still love and I had hoped this would be similar. I love the colour periwinkle. I read reviews about sizing and ordered a size 8. This was still way too big and very low. Sadly not for me.

It was hard to rate this as the top itself is beautiful. I had seen comments from other petite ladies about this style so was prepared for it to be too long and for the sleeves to be too long. I actually quite liked how you could ruche it up. People said it came up big, so I ordered 2 sizes 12 and 14 in 2 colours Dark Amethyst and Periwinkle (I'm a Jewel/Clear Winter). I have a thick middle so actually preferred the 14 as it didn't cling to my lumps and bumps. If you are slim or have a waist, you might find sizing down a good idea. I loved the style and the way it drapes. It is quite low cut, but as a romantic I don't mind that! My biggest disappointment was the colours. The Dark Amethyst was muted - I compared it with another top I have in that colour and my Kettlewell drape (I'm a stylist) and it is markedly softer. I appreciate that different fabrics take the dye differently, but this is more suited to Summers than Winters. I knew I was taking a gamble with Periwinkle, but I have the Tina Sweater in this shade and it's beautifully bright so thought it could work. Sadly it is again too soft and muted. Better for Summers or Springs.

Lovely colour, but that�s all. Sleeves much too long and tight. So much fabric at the front that the cowl ends below the band of my bra! The fabric is very thin and clingy. Bizarre design, the worst thing I�ve ever had from Kettlewell.
